Accurate News from Honduras
The following comes from a friend of mine living in Honduras. There is a lot of misinformation if you only watch the news. DH’s email helps clear up a lot. Keep my friends and the people of Honduras in your prayers, please.
Hi everyone,
In view of the events of the past 7 days in Honduras and, in our opinion, the tremendous MISINFORMATION by the international media, we want to direct you to a website that gives a more balanced view of these events.
Honduras really needs prayer as the very fabric of democracy in this nation is threatened right now. Continue reading “Accurate News from Honduras”
Not everyone’s iPhone 3GS is hot.
Reports are coming in of Iphone 3GS’s overheating. But not for everyone.
Paul Venezia wonders the same thing I did when I first read reports about over-heating.
I’ve read that some folks first noticed the problem when they kept the phone under their pillow (why you would do this kinda escapes me, but OK) … My iPhone 3GS: Not So Hot – PC World.
Of course none of this stopped me from ordering the new Iphone 3GS. When it gets here, and if It overheats, It will be under warranty and I’ll take it back. And if they issue a recall, I’m fine w/ that.
7/25 Savannah Main Street Festival Series time-change
Just helping get the word out. I think changing the time is a good idea.
The July 25th Festival time-change to a 5 – 8 pm rather than 3-7 pm Due To HEAT
Most of the folks who attended and/or worked the event realize the urgency to change the start and end time of the festival due to the heat index possibilities for July and perhaps even August.
The start time of the July 25th festival is 5 pm w/the end time at 8 pm.
An outdoor movie will follow.
Savannah Dogs will be on the menu to be cooked by the fire department.
This event will not include a cook-off.
The festival will continue to include children’s activities.
The featured band is ‘Littlefield,’ who also will be opening for the September rock concert sponsored by the Darryl Worley Foundation. For those of you who can share this information with your church bulletin organizer, please try to have it placed in the upcoming church bulletins.
Thank you.

Windows 7: What happens if I just keep the trial?
For those of us with a full cup of Windows Vista hate, the answer is to run to Windows 7. The release candidate (RC) is out and I too plan to overwrite Vista with this as soon as I can get my head above water. But this article from Lifehacker made me laugh this morning. What will happen when you get the Windows 7 RC and fail to upgrade to the paid version? At first (in March 2010) you’ll get a nag/pop up. I’d expect that. Then in June, you’d expect to be locked out, right. But no, even funnier. You can use it for 30 minutes. Then it auto-reboots – without warning. 🙂 Maybe it’s just me, but that’s funny and worse than a total lockout. Like what you see? Too ba(reboot).
It’s all fine. They don’t have to give you a nag-free year to begin with. If you don’t want to pay for your operating system, then get Ubuntu (or some other flavor of Linux).
